Dr. Andrés Nader, born 1968 in Argentina, is a Gestalt therapist, supervisor, systemic coach and couple’s therapist who holds a Ph.D. in German Studies from Cornell University. 2021 and 2022 he trained in “Somatic Abolitionism: Healing Racial Trauma through the Body” with Resmaa Menakem. He was executive director of the German NGO RAA Berlin from 2012 till 2020, where he created the wholistic approach “Diversity-Oriented Organizational Development” with a strong focus on race-equity and anti-discrimination. As a consultant to the Amadeu Antonio Foundation on addressing racism and antisemitism, he directed a project about confronting the Nazi past at the local level from 2007 to 2010. He previously worked as a counselor for the Advocacy Center for Victims of Hate Crimes in Saxony-Anhalt. He has taught at the University of Rochester (1999-2006), New York University (2009-2012) and the Sigmund Freud University in Berlin (since 2017). He has published about racism, antisemitism, critical whiteness, heteronormativity and educational justice as well as about dealing with a traumatic or genocidal past at the individual and collective levels. He was a Fellow of the American Psychoanalytic Association 2003-2004. In 2007 the Modern Language Association awarded him the MLA Prize for Independent Scholars for his book ›Traumatic Verses: On Poetry in German from the Concentration Camps, 1933-1945‹.
